Definition of concentration and fineness

The pulp concentration refers to the mass of solids contained in the slurry and is expressed as a percentage. Its calculation formula is:

C=

× 100%=

Q 1

× 100%

Q

Q 1 +Q 2

Where is the mass percent concentration of C-slurry, %;
Q 1 — the mass of solids in the pulp, in kilograms;
Q 2 —the mass of the liquid in the slurry, in kilograms;
Q—The quality of the pulp, in kilograms.
In addition to the percentage concentration, the slurry concentration is also commonly expressed by the liquid-solid ratio (R), that is, the ratio of the mass Q 2 of the liquid contained in the slurry to the mass Q 1 of the solid contained in the slurry. The calculation formula is:

R=

Q 1

The relationship between liquid to solid ratio and percentage concentration is:

C=

1+R

Grinding fineness is used to indicate the size of the grinding product. It is customarily used to express the percentage content of less than 200 mesh.
