(1) The area of ​​machine-cultivated land for rice production has increased steadily. In 1995, the area of ​​machine-cultivated land for rice production in Guangxi was 674,400 hm2, and reached 815,500 hm2 in 2000, an increase of 139,900 hm2.

(2) The machine broadcast has developed. During the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period, the agricultural machinery departments of various localities actively promoted the rice planting technology, from on-demand and live broadcast to factory-based breeding and mechanical throwing, and through the introduction, demonstration and promotion work, farmers generally accepted this mechanization technology. Farmers in some areas have begun to use mechanical sowing and transplanting. In 2000, the rice planting reached 1.19 million hm2, an increase of 112,000 hm2 over 1995.

(3) There is a large increase in the threshing area of ​​the machine. The number of rice harvesters increased from 20 at the end of 1995 to 800 in 2000. The number of mobile threshers increased from 89,600 in 1995 to 241,700 in 2000, an annual increase of 21.95%. In 1995, the rice harvesting area was 3,598 hm2. By 2000, the rice harvesting area was 29,600 hm2. Farmers in some economically developed areas have generally used machinery to harvest rice. The area of ​​machine removal has also increased. In 2000, the area of ​​machine removal was 1.159 million hm2, an increase of 461,200 hm2 over 1995.

(4) The promotion of rice mechanical drying technology began. In 1999, the main rice producing counties such as Wuming County, Pingnan County, Beiliu County and Hezhou City began to introduce rice drying machinery and promoted 7 sets of rice drying equipment.

In addition, mechanical plant protection, mechanical irrigation and drainage, etc. also have certain development. In 2001, it had 12,200 sets of plant protection machinery (27,900 kW). In that year, the area of ​​mechanical plant protection was 4.55 million hm2; there were 520,200 sets of irrigation and drainage machinery, and the area of ​​irrigation and drainage was 695,800 hm2.

2. Major work in recent years

(1) Do a good job in the demonstration and promotion of mechanization of rice production. First, clearly promote the goal, establish promotion projects, and establish a demonstration county for mechanization of rice production. In 1999, in order to speed up the mechanization of rice production, the whole process of mechanization of rice production in Wuming County and Hepu County was carried out, with a total investment of 4 million yuan, introducing new mechanized technologies and new tools such as cultivated land, breeding, harvesting, and demonstration. The district is the center to spread the radiation to the county. At the same time, in order to increase the promotion, promotion and demonstration of rice mechanized production, the farmers are guided to adopt advanced machinery for rice production. While conducting the whole mechanization pilot of rice production, they also determine Xiangzhou, Lingchuan, Hezhou and Beiliu. Four grain production counties, as demonstration counties for rice production, raised 1.9 million yuan to establish a rice production demonstration base. In 2000, it raised 400,000 yuan of subsidy funds, and used Lingshan and Pingnan counties as demonstration counties for rice production and established demonstration bases. The agricultural machinery management department, according to the requirements of the rice production mechanization demonstration project, introduced various machinery required for the rice production process from the actual situation of the county, including rice germination equipment, throwing machine, various tillage machinery, harvesting machinery and rice drying.
