As an important facility for sewage treatment, the main structure of the second phase of the intake pumping station of Shanghai Bailonggang Sewage Treatment Plant with a diameter of 62.3 meters and a depth of 20.4 meters was completed underground. The reporter learned yesterday from the China Railway Engineering Bureau municipal company that the world's largest pumping station in the field of environmental protection, the maximum daily sewage inflow of up to 3.78 million cubic meters. This is equivalent to more than 1,000 standard swimming pools measuring 50 meters long, 25 meters wide, and 2.5 meters deep.

The pumping house started construction in April 2010. Different from the general bottom-up construction method, the pumping house adopts a reverse-construction method from top to bottom. According to the technical personnel of China Railway Engineering Bureau of Shanghai Municipal Engineering Company, the entire construction was divided into five reversed operations, and the bottom slab concrete pouring at the bottom of the pump room was finally completed.
