Due to factors such as tight food drying sites, excessive construction costs, and continuous rainy weather during the rice harvest in the past two years, the enthusiasm of the majority of farmers in Yancheng in purchasing dryers has increased this year, and the amount of grain dryers has rapidly increased. The city has added 658 grain dryers this year, adding 9,070 tons of batch drying capacity, which is 1.8 times that of last year. At present, the total amount of grain dryers in the city ranks third in the province.
According to the understanding at the beginning of the year, the city plans to purchase nearly 1,500 grain dryers. However, due to the difficulty of implementing the land for the dryer warehouse, the number of actual purchases differs significantly from the planned number. Grain dryers differ from conventional agricultural machinery in that they require a fixed location to build a warehouse that meets the requirements before drying. According to calculations, a drying unit (3 sets) of the Treasury site will require about 600-1000 square meters.

It is recommended to earnestly implement the “Regulations of the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture on Further Supporting the Healthy Development of Facility Agriculture” (Guozi Zifa (2014) No. 127) and other documents, and use the land of the dryer warehouse as supporting facilities to simplify the approval process and establish Rapid access to promote the rapid development of grain dryers to protect the city's food production safety.
