EH Introduces EtherNet/IP Connectivity Electromagnetic Flowmeters

Introduction: On November 7, Endress Hauser introduced the Promag 53 electromagnetic flowmeter with EtherNet/IP connectivity that can be easily integrated with Rockwell Automation's PlantPAx process automation system. The flow meter is used to measure conductive liquids (>5 μS/cm) and is ideal for food and beverage, water and wastewater, and other process industries.

Promag53 flowmeters are used to measure conductive liquids (>5μS/cm) and are ideal for food and beverage, water and wastewater, and other process industries.

Promag53 flowmeters use an integrated Web server that allows authorized users to remotely view flow data, perform diagnostics, configure flow meters, or perform process optimization. Data can also be accessed with higher levels of software security, including ERP systems, process history information systems, control loop regulation programs, and asset management systems. With remote access via EtherNet/IP, up to 10 variables can be configured, including volume flow, calculated mass flow, and total flow.

Endress Hauser's flow product manager, Jerry Stevens, said, "The Promag53 flowmeter has been carefully designed to integrate seamlessly with the PlantPAx process automation system via a downloadable Level 3 user defined configuration file. The Promag53 flowmeter is pre-designed to seamlessly integrate with the PlantPAx process automation system. Flowmeter operating temperature is minus 4 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees above zero (-20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees above zero), working pressure is maximum 580psi, in line with NEMA4X or IP67 protection class, with FM/CSAI class 2-zone certification, to meet The EMC requirements of IEC/EN61326 and NAMURNE21 comply with the requirements of the EU and ACMA directives and have CE and √ markings.
