On April 25, the National Energy Bureau took the lead in organizing and implementing the PetroChina Tai'an 600,000-ton/year LNG (liquefied natural gas) equipment localization project. This is the first domestic natural gas liquefaction project with the most independent intellectual property rights and the largest single liquefaction production capacity in China. It is also the largest domestic LNG plant project that is currently under construction. The project is located in Fanzhen Industrial Park, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2013 with the conditions for commissioning. After completion, the daily natural gas treatment capacity will reach 2.6 million cubic meters, which will provide 600,000 tons/year of LNG energy for the surrounding areas.
