Recently, Wärtsilä received a contract to supply waterjets for a new high-speed ferry built by the Spanish ship owner Naviera Armas.

The ferry is being built at the Incat Shipyard in Tasmania, Australia. The 109-meter long wave-type ferry will be the third high-speed twin-body ferry built by Incat to join the Naviera Armas fleet. The three ferries will be equipped with Wärtsilä waterjets.

The newly constructed ferry will be put into operation in 2019, and four Wärtsilä waterjets with control systems will be delivered to the shipyard in October 2018.

Wärtsilä received the contract in August this year. Wärtsilä said the company has been working closely with Incat for nearly 30 years, the second contract signed by the shipyard with Wärtsilä this year.

It is reported that Wärtsilä has delivered a total of 174 modular waterjets to Incat.
