Deltamarin's new compact LNG powered ferry design
Finnish ship design company Deltamarin recently introduced a new ferry design called "DeltaLinx" during the 2015 BaltExpo Ship Show in Poland. According to reports, DeltaLinx is a compact ferry designed for offshore routes, about 80 meters long, easy to operate between small cities and congested ports. This ferry can take 800 passengers on two decks and 82 cars or 16 trucks on the main car deck. The ferry is designed as a propulsion system with LNG fuel to reduce emissions such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide. The large LNG fuel tank on board the ship's deck allows the ferry to be fueled for up to a week.
