Data show that the manufacturing quality competitiveness indices of the five chemical-related industries in the petroleum processing, coking and nuclear fuel processing, chemical raw materials and chemical manufacturing, chemical fiber manufacturing, rubber products, and plastic products industries were 79.81, respectively. 83.71, 81.99, 84.31, and 79.28. Among them, the industries with a high level of quality competitiveness index and steady growth include chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing and chemical fiber manufacturing, which were increased by 1.52 and 0.68 respectively compared with 2008.
According to the calculation of relevant data of more than 250,000 manufacturing enterprises in the country, in 2009, China's manufacturing quality competitiveness index reached 82.14, an increase of 0.96 over 2008. Judging from 29 manufacturing industries, the quality competitiveness index of 22 industries has improved. From a regional perspective, the manufacturing quality competitiveness index of seven regions such as Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Hunan and Zhejiang is above 85, and the gap between the manufacturing quality competitiveness of the central and western regions and the eastern region has further narrowed.
