Before using the new glass electrode, it should be soaked in water or a protective solution (KCL solution, such as HINNA's HI80300) for more than 24 hours before use to stabilize its asymmetry potential and reduce the resistance. It is better to immerse it in the protection solution after use. In order to use it for the next time, it can be quickly balanced.

Some things to note in the measurement:

1 pH meter measurements are sometimes not constant, depending on the nature of the solution and the impact of CO2 in the air, there will be a slight change, you can use a certain amount of time as a test result, such as 30s, or repeat the results Nearly average;

2 After measuring a solution, it is necessary to carefully rinse and drain the beads, and then measure the next sample;

3 When the test solution can be slightly stirred, but the speed should not be too fast, otherwise it is easy to produce air bubbles attached to the electrode, resulting in unstable readings;

4 When the measured value changes greatly and the response is slow, the glass electrode may be contaminated or the glass electrode may be improperly protected from drying.

5 For the contaminated glass electrode, it is necessary to select an appropriate solution for cleaning according to the nature of the contaminant. If organic oils and fats are to be cleaned with CCL4 or acetone, they should be rinsed with 0.1 mol/L dilute hydrochloric acid for 1 hour and then rinsed with distilled water for a day and night before use. For dry electrodes, it is necessary to soak in the protective solution and correct them afterwards.
