According to the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission, in June 2012, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the engine project of Shanghai GM (Shenyang) Beisheng Automobile Co., Ltd. The project will have a scale of 450,000 units/year. At the same time, it also approved the joint venture between Sichuan Nanjun Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Korea Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. to produce commercial vehicles and engines. The scale of the project is to build an annual output of 160,000 trucks, 20,000 heavy-duty truck engines and 10,000 commercial buses. In addition, the joint venture of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. and Navistar, USA, to produce diesel engines has also been approved. The project will have a construction scale of 150,000 units/year.
