During the launch of the 2nd China Green Tire Safety Week, the 2016 Global Tire Technology Forum and the 15th International Elastomers Symposium were held in Qingdao, Shandong.

The theme of this session is: technological innovation, green development. The forum consists of a main forum and a number of professional and technical sections, with nearly 300 representatives from home and abroad attending the conference.

More than 60 technical authoritative experts from more than ten countries including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, the United States, Turkey, and Thailand have conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the application of new materials and new technologies in the rubber industry.

At the "Molecular to Product"-themed Elastomers Symposium, guests conducted technical discussions on high-performance tire materials, cost-effective control, sustainable processing, and advanced elastomer properties.

Some experts introduced the application of new technologies, new materials and new processes in the tire industry, and predicted the future development trends.

Deng Yazhen, president of China Rubber Industry Association, said in his speech that although the growth rate of the tire market has slowed down, the research and development of enterprises has been strengthened, innovation achievements have emerged, and breakthroughs have been made in new technologies, new processes, new products and new materials.

“In particular, smart manufacturing and Internet+ are penetrating this industry and continue to improve the productivity and product quality of the tire industry,” she said.

It is reported that with the fierce competition in the tire industry, companies at home and abroad have paid more and more attention to technology research and development, and have increased their investment in this area. In particular, self-owned brands have increased their R&D expenses in sales in recent years.

In terms of new material applications, automated production and intelligent manufacturing, some tire companies have spent huge sums of money to purchase advanced equipment and made major breakthroughs in technology.

This tire technology forum was jointly organized by China Rubber Industry Association, International Elastomers Symposium (ISE), and Advanced Chemical Materials Research Center of Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
