Rolls-Royce has introduced a new UT7217 three-purpose workboat (A-ship Shipyard) (AHTS) design that reduces construction and operating costs. The AHTS is 68 meters long and has a column tension of 100 tons. As a supply ship (ship type shipyard), there is enough space to transport liquid and powdery cargo.
The UT7217 AHTS can perform a variety of tasks including supply, ROV/maintenance, and standby and rescue missions. The AHTS is powered by two medium-speed Bergen C25:33L9P CD diesel engines (purchased from the product library) with an output of 3000 kW each; the shipboard power supply (purchased from the product library) (purchased by the product library) consists of two diesel generators ( The product library is purchased and supplied by the group independently, each unit is 400kW. Propulsion and power system redundancy meet IMO DP2 dynamic positioning requirements.
According to Rolls, the UT7217 AHTS can accommodate up to 40 people and can carry up to 12 passengers. The company said that the plunge in oil prices has forced ship operators and oil companies to cut back on their organizations and find a more cost-effective way of working; the UT7217 AHTS was designed to meet this future demand.
