Hector robot is just a concept
CITEC Bielefeld has announced this month a new style of walking robot, named Hector, equipped with six legs to help it on a variety of surfaces. The Hector robot is currently only a proof-of-concept prototype, but its creator has developed a new version that will be equipped with two cameras that provide Hector vision as well as tentacles that allow the robot to interact and look almost at the surroundings. The new technology is mounted on Hector's 6-legged robot, allowing each leg to move independently of other components as well as for different terrain types, keeping it balanced even on uneven surfaces or wet ground. Hector can move and position each leg separately to navigate small obstacles or steps on uneven ground. Unfortunately, don't expect the Hector walking robot to be launched in a short period of time. The prototype is still in its early stages of development, but hopefully this new robot will allow the creation of new technologies for autonomous construction of cargo orders and extraterrestrial probes. Send to the planets around us for exploration.
